Two-days workshop on ‘Molecular Tools and Real World Based Experiment’

Two days workshop was organized by the Department of Biotechnology on the topic “Molecular Tools and Real World Based Experiments” by the Department of Biotechnology, Hindustan College of Science and Technology. This workshop was organized by Decode DNA Pvt Ltd, New Delhi. Director of the Institute Dr.  Rajeev Kumar Upadhyay welcomed Dr. Nidhi Srivastava and Miss Nidhi Chauhan, from Decode DNA Pvt Ltd, New Delhi and said that this workshop will prove beneficial for our students and teachers from research and experimental point of view. He said that the Department of Biotechnology is making new achievements every year.  This year, Indermeet Singh Bakshi, a student of the department of biotech made the institute proud by getting the first position in GATE-2021 in India. Last year, Shweta Bajpai, a student of the department, brought laurels to the institute by getting a gold medal in the AKTU examination.

Dr. Nidhi Srivastava, Decode DNA Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, has trained more than 60 students of Bio- Tech department on the topics 1. Are you eating genetically modified food 2.Whether the food is genetically modified or not. 3. Genetic foods and protection.

On this occasion, she demonstrated the technique and showed things like Agro gel electrophoresis, PCR, Mini Gel Documentation System, Mini Spin etc to the students  .

On this occasion the Head of the Department of Biotechnology, Dr. Ajay Sharma welcomed Dr. Nidhi Srivastava and Miss Nidhi Chauhan, said that Decode DNA Private Limited is a startup company which is providing services of mobile lab in various technical institutes and many research and educational institutions related to Biotechnology.  More than 60 students and teachers of the Department of Biotechnology has participated in the workshop.
