To cater to the needs of higher and quality education in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the state government laid the edifice of the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) in May 2000. “Technical Education”, under the University Act includes programmes of education, research and training in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Pharmacy, Applied Arts & Crafts and such other programmes. The University is affiliating in nature and its jurisdiction covers the entire state of Uttar Pradesh. UPTU affiliate colleges offer graduate, post-graduate and doctoral level training. UPTU envisions facilitating and nurturing quality technical education and research within its own premises as well as all the institutions affiliated to it.
