M.B.B.S.

About the Course

    • Medicine & Healthcare Services are amongst the most distinguished and respected professions in the world & more so in India. The bachelors' course in medicine & surgery is M.B.B.S. (Bachelor in Medicine & Bachelor in Surgery) which qualifies a person to take up practice as a physician or surgeon after a post qualification internship training period in a hospital or health care institution
    •  M.B.B.S. education begins after class 12 (10 + 2) stage completion with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects. The selection is through various competitive entrance examination or a few management /NRI quota seats
    • All doctors examine patients as part of their job to determine the cause and complexity of sickness and offer corrective treatment or medicine or therapy.
    • They have to answer patients questions or queries regarding their health, attend to trauma, accidents & other medical emergences at odd hours; therefore the hours of work are strenuous & long and stress full. But as a career it is both rewarding and fulfilling - especially for those who are compassionate & caring and find satisfaction in their ability to help others and reduce their sufferings.

The medical science today is highly specialized and a M.B.B.S. degree is by no means adequate. It has to be followed by a specialized M.D/M.S. for the person to become a specialist. Post doctoral specializations or super specialization are now commonly needed in super specialty hospitals.
